Student Leadership at Q3 Academy Tipton

At Q3 Academy Tipton, our student leadership structure is designed to empower pupils across all years and houses, providing meaningful opportunities to develop communication, organisation, and leadership skills. Through a range of key roles including Head Student, Deputy Head Student, Prefects, Student Parliament representatives, and House Captains, students are encouraged to take on responsibilities that enrich their school experience and contribute to the wider academy community.

The student leadership structure benefits the entire school, students and staff alike by ensuring that every pupil has a voice in shaping the direction of the academy. Student leaders work closely with staff, represent their peers at key events, and help maintain high standards throughout the school. Whether leading house competitions, supporting younger students, or gathering feedback for school improvement, these roles foster a sense of pride, teamwork, and achievement.

Who can be a student leader?

All pupils have the opportunity to apply for a leadership role and make a positive impact across the academy. Sixth form students may apply for the positions of Head Student or Deputy Head Student, while students from Year 10–13 can become Prefects. Student Parliament representatives are elected by their peers, and House Captains are chosen to lead and inspire their house teams.
